Custom Job #317
Job Name: Basil Bin
Quantity: 120 pieces
Date: December 18th 2004
Crate Creations
An overhead shot of the beginning of the
line. Blanks are put in the jig and slats are
attached.
Spacing slats and checking distances.
This step leads the line. Employee
performs several tasks at this station all at
once.
A spacer between the front and back
sections of this display is glued and
attached.
Once the spacer is in place, the slats are
attached to the back of this portion of
the display.
The spacer is glued and ready to receive
the front crate. Special care is given to
each section to ensure quality and
craftsmanship.
The assembly line flows in many
directions. Employee is pushing the next
section down the line.
Each custom job line is built just for that
project. Some lines have more than one
direction and more than two stations. This
job had only two stations and was done
within an 8 hour period.
The crate wall represents about half of
the order. We stack them up to make
space while we work.
There are six displays per stack.
There are over 30 crates on the
assembly line at one time. One is finished
every 4 minutes.
An new assembly line is made twice per
week.
